In some of what I have written over the years, I have urged readers to consider accessing the incredible power of meditation. It not only relieves stress but it also improves health and mental acuity; it can lead you to answers to challenging questions; it has the power to help you manifest into your life what seems like the impossible; and it generally makes you a much nicer person.

The biggest complaint I have heard stems from the impatience of...Read more

The World Business Academy [www.worldbusiness.org] tells me that water has moved to the top of corporate concerns, boosted by the fact that the World Economic Forum has classified water scarcity as among the top five global risks. Major companies, funds and banks are driving improved water management using new tools like the Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas and True Cost of Water.

Not many people realize how critical an issue this is, and that much of it is a product...Read more

“Chase the vision, not the money, the money will end up following you.” —Tony Hsieh, CEO Zappos

Ever thought about what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur?

It was June, 1969, and although I had been out of grad school for two years, and working as a research scientist for Exxon, I was still smack dab in the middle of rock and roll, playing every weekend with the Royal Teens...Read more

"The idea that the growing demand for energy worldwide can be met with energy from nuclear power is nonsense."

Could Israel and Saudi Arabia, two perennial adversaries, be scheming to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities? Events over the past several months say yes, at least that’s the conclusion of analysts reporting in a recent issue of the Oil & Investment Report. I believe the arguments are quite credible.

U. S. President Obama dispatched Secretary of State John Kerry to Iran to negotiate an agreement whereby that country would forgo continued pursuit of nuclear power and the capability to produce nuclear...Read more

Not surprisingly, a large fraction of the Czechoslovak modern military installations were located in Sudetenland.

Hitler used the pretext that...Read more

Dr. James Hansen, a leading world expert on climate change has been my hero for more than a decade. But he now has brought me great disappointment. On November 3, 2013, Dr. Hansen decided to support the construction of large numbers of nuclear plants as way to save the day for climate change [http://edition.cnn.com/2013/11/03/world/nuclear-energy-climate-change-scientists/].

Dr. Hansen, what in the world were you thinking?

I applaud the...Read more

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), and is confirmed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), tobacco could kill one billion people this century.  These results were reported in the January-February 2014 issue of THE FUTURIST Magazine. Now that’s scary!

Since total population is projected to reach about 10 billion by 2100, that’s a considerable percentage of humanity up in smoke, so to speak. The emotional and financial costs associated with these deaths are beyond calculation and comprehension.

The CDC...Read more
